SAFETY TIPS

INSTALL SAFETY SENSORS (P.E BEAMS)

Safety beams / P.E beams are an excellent safety feature, they protect not only your door and operator but they also protect things that may be in the way of your doors operation such as vehicles, children and pets.. All of our openers come with load sensors, however we recommend the use of Photo Eye beams to eliminate the risk of any contact occurring with objects or people.

INSTALL A BATTERY BACK UP

The one day that you need to get your vehicle out of the garage in a hurry will be the day that your power is out - Murphy's Law will always ensure this! You can outsmart 'Murphy' by installing a battery back up system to your opener, so that even in the event of power failure you are still able to operate your door.  Our technicians can easily install a battery backup at the same time as your new opener, or we can add them to your exising opener in most cases.

KEEP REMOTES OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN

Garage door remotes are not toys (even though we can see the attraction of playing with buttons)... We recommend keeping remotes out of reach and away from children, as garage doors are very large, heavy objects that are capable of causing damage and harm.

REGULARLY MAINTAIN YOUR DOOR

Your garage door is a very large, heavy object with moving parts that is under spring tension. It is important to regularly maintain and service your door in order to keep it safe and also to prolong the life of your door to avoid costly, premature replacement.

LEARN ALL OF THE SAFETY FEATURES OF YOUR DOOR & OPENER

We recommend getting to know all of the safety features of your door and opener, you can read all about these in your manual or by speaking with our friendly technnicians. By knowing all of the safety features of your garage door and opener you can ensure that you are always optimising the safety of your family and possessions when operating them.

CARRY OUT VISUAL INSPECTION OF YOUR DOOR REGULARLY

When you are in your garage performing projects, or cleaning your car, or doing a de-clutter, take the opportunity to also carry out a visual inspection of your garage door.  Check the tracks and cables, listen to the opener in operation, if you have a roller door check the condition of the nylo-felt along the sides of the door
